Mid-Autumm is the festive time of moon cakes, lanterns and parties that children in all Vietnam are expecting and longing for. Unfortunately in certain areas of the country ,the full moon night party with “chị Hằng “ and “chú Cuội” is just a luxurious dream of so many children in poverty and hunger.
From the above true fact, in the midst of love and wish of sharing difficulty of the poor children, the company charity trip was organized on Sep 20, 2015 in line with CSR declaration. GMD Labour union and staffs organized an event “ Night of Full Moon Festival “ for over 200 children in Tan Hoa Tay Ward, Tan Phuoc District, Tien Giang Province under the support from the Ward Committee and Tân Hòa Tây elementay school, where the charity activity was performed.
In that event, our delegates brought to the poor children a Mid- Autumm Festival, full of bustle and colors via folk games, lantern parade and musical performance. In the trip we also gave them gifts of moon cakes, milk, lanterns, notebooks and school bags( total 150,000VND/ each). Despite the small gift, it totally conveyed a great love to wish them a happy and joyful festival so that they would be encouraged to continuously pursue their schooling and life improvement.
Beside the festival for the poor children, on that day GMD delegates also visited specially difficult families( those who can’t earn their living due to bad health and chronic illness ) to hand them gifts and cash, contributing our small part to share their hardships as well as their poverty. The shining eyes from the children and brilliant smiles from the local poor people have left us deep emotion and happiness. We all feel the meaningful and successful charity trip not because of the gift value but because of happiness and warm love bringing to the poor.
Frankly speaking, the consecutive charity trips of Gemadept are the practical ones of love to approach unfortunate lives for sharing in accordance with the tradition “ mutual affection, mutual love” and recognize the profound human culture which has been largely imbued in Gemadept family during the years. It is the real conception of “ Giving is happiness “
