Ecoport is a model that balances dynamic environment and economic development, and a strategic trend in the development of seaports in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the world, the “Eco-port” model is no longer strange. It is a port based on green economic growth criterias for a long-term plan. Currently, many European ports have joined the Ecoports Association (Ecoports) and have granted a valid “Ecoport” certificate. In US, Long Beach is one of the pioneer ports in the field of cargo transportation and environmental protection in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Vietnam in 2018, SNP Cat Lai was the first unit winning the\u00a0APEC Green Port Award\u00a0due to meeting the criteria of\u00a0Green Port System Program (GPAS).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors is determined to building DQP as an “Ecological Port” in the future. Gemadept Dung Quat is urgently developing “green” criterias:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Smoke, dust control and noise reduction<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Develop water management plan at port<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Apply science and technology to determine ballast water samples<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Build a system to classify and manage garbage in accordance with regulations<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Energy saving<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Enhance many patches of grass and trees around the port as well as use green energy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Gemadept Dung Quat Port has successfully built the Management System of Environment – Occupational Safety and Occupational Health – HSSE (Health Security Safety Environment) according to\u00a0ISO 14001:2015\u00a0and\u00a0ISO 45001:2018\u00a0and management apparatus. At the same time, DQP completes legal documents on environmental and energy management based on current regulations, local and industry.<\/span><\/p>\n
